5 Cruise Destinations To Look Out for in 2020

5 of the Best Cruise Destinations to Book in 2020

Cruises are an incredible way for a traveler to experience multiple destinations in just a short amount of time while having access to comfortable and consistent accommodations, top-notch amenities, and a team of tourism professionals to help them out along the way. There are popular cruise lines and destinations all around the world, but every year we experience new trends that open our eyes to places we might not have ever considered visiting before. Our team has pulled together some of the cruise ship destinations we’re excited to see grow in 2020:

The Bahamas

Tourism in the Bahamas is picking back up following the devastation of Hurricane Dorian and the island is ready to take on more vacationers! Not only have many cruise lines provided supplies and donations to those in need, but more and more are offering cruises to areas outside of Nassau like CocoCay Island where you’ll find fantastic snorkeling and diving opportunities or Ocean Cay, which is the perfect place for those who want to relax in a spa. As always, Grand Bahama and the Abaco Islands are also wonderful places to stop at and will benefit greatly from your visit!

Antarctica

Did you know that cold-weather cruises are gaining in popularity? Many are turning away from tropical vacations and heading south to the islands of Antarctica to see what might not exist in a few years or decades time. These excursions are what people are calling “last-chance tourism” and have made a great impact on areas of the world that could be endangered from climate or other factors. See glaciers, breathtaking wildlife like penguins and seals, nature preserves, and so much more. There are truly few places on earth like Antarctica and you’ll want to see it with the time it remains accessible!

Greece

Greece continues to be one of the most popular cruise destinations because of its waterways, many islands, history, food, and weather. Entire cruises are dedicated to traveling around this country in order for visitors to see as much of its beautiful landscape as possible. Many ships will port in Santorini where you can experience many of those beautiful white-washed homes on the hillside, but there are so many other areas you can see. Athens is known for its ancient Greek ruins and monuments, Mykonos is beloved for its beautiful beaches, and both Gythion and Katakolon are the seaports to experience ancient Olympia.

Galapagos Islands

Located off the coast of Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands are a group of 13 large (and hundreds of small) islands and considered one of the best places for wildlife viewing. Cruise ships will port at Baltra Island which connects to Santa Cruz Island where guests can explore its many beaches, turquoise waters, and the sea turtles that frequent Tortuga Bay. Visitors will often take excursions to swim with sea lions, snorkel, kayak, and hike to see the ancient ruins that exist throughout. () With so many islands to explore, there are dozens of cruises that visit various areas of the Galapagos so all you have to do is find the one that works for you.
