Fall is here and it’s time to embrace the beauty of the season. We love fall for football, apple picking, making soups and pies, the foliage, and of course—pumpkin picking. Visiting a pumpkin patch is a fun, family-friendly fall experience. There is just something special about picking out your own pumpkin to take home for a jack-o-lantern or a pumpkin pie. There are some incredible pumpkin picking destinations in the US, but we wanted to celebrate the start of the season by showing you some of the top pumpkin patches in the country!

4. The Great Pumpkin Farm – Clarence, NY

It’s the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown! Well really, The Great Pumpkin Farm in New York. You’re sure to find the perfect pumpkin in this scenic patch. There are a number of great activities and attractions to keep the whole family entertained including scarecrow-making, pumpkin slingshots, mummy wrapping, and a pumpkin pie eating competition. They have something fun going on each weekend including live music and a barbecue at their annual Oinktoberfest. Not to mention the fan-favorite hot pumpkin and apple cider donuts.

3. Linvilla Orchards – Media, PA

Learning is fun at this 300-acre orchard, located south of Philadelphia. Here, you can engage in agricultural classes, fishing, and even indoor miniature golf. Linvilla Orchards is home to the popular Pumpkinland, which features more than 100 pumpkins on display for your viewing pleasure. While you’re there, be sure to take a hayride through the gorgeous fall grounds. They even offer Halloween-themed hayrides to a witch’s house for an extra level of spooky fun.

2. Vala’s Pumpkin Patch – Gretna, NE

Vala’s Pumpkin Patch in Nebraska is the perfect mix of an amusement park and a gorgeous farm environment. The grounds feature more than 50 attractions including Stalk Cars and Graveyard Golf. There are also multiple live shows, like the Pigtucky Derby Pig Races, and live music events. And if you like fair food mixed with fall food, you’ll be able to indulge in corn dogs, caramel apples, s’mores, and so much more.

Head to Illinois to pick you perfect pumpkin right off the vine! Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm offers a full day of fun and is the perfect place for a day trip when vacationing in Chicago as it’s just one hour away. The farm boasts a 15-acre corn maze, hayrides, a tire mountain, climbing wall, and an eight-food wooden rocking chair. Plus, you and the kids will love spending time at the baby chick nursery and interacting with the farm babies at the farm petting zoo!
