Marvel Lands to Offer an Immersive Superhero Experience

Calling all Marvel fans! You will soon have the opportunity to enjoy Marvel lands at your favorite Disney theme parks at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, as well as experiences at Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

What to Expect

After last year’s success of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! ride, the Disney theme parks are looking to add more Marvel attractions. The Marvel brand has stated that these attractions will provide a brand new and completely immersive Super Hero universe. It will be coming to Disney’s California Adventure park, taking over the area that is currently occupied by Pixar’s A Bug’s Life.

So far, not much information has been released about what exactly will be coming to these Marvel lands, but they are expected to open next year. It has been said that it will be a themed section of the park rather and a separated area, and that Spider-Man and Avengers characters will be involved. There will also be a retail outlet, an Ant-Man themed-microbrewery, and a character meet-and-greet area.

Part of the reason that the Marvel lands aren’t a fully separate area on their own is because most Marvel movies don’t take place in “unique” worlds, but rather in places like New York City. But there is much room for more Marvel-themed attractions like creating the world from Black Panther, Wakanda.

One thing is for sure, this won’t be the first Marvel branded attraction to come to the Disney theme parks.

Marvel Lands Outside the US

Beyond the Marvel-themed lands being added in California, there will be large updates to Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

In 2020, Disneyland Paris will be debuting an Iron Man and The Avengers-themed ride to their new Marvel area. And coming soon to Hong Kong Disneyland is an Ant-Man and The Wasp attraction.
