It’s a common practice to avoid grocery shopping before leaving for a trip. After all, why would you stock your fridge and pantry with food you won’t be eating for a week? While smart, this becomes a problem when you return. You head straight home with the realization that you need to buy groceries, but many choose to simply order out and worry about it another day. A good way to scale back this habit is to stop at the grocery store on your way home from the airport. You may not want to, but stocking your shelves with healthy foods will eliminate the desire to grab an easy pizza or Chinese take out.

If you’re on a diet before you travel, you’re likely avoiding sugar. However, those doughy pastries at breakfast and after-dinner desserts are likely loaded with sugar. When you get home, it’s important to cut out the powdery sweetener altogether. Opt instead for a heavy diet of prebiotic-rich vegetables, like asparagus, artichokes, and others. Cutting down on sugar and replacing it with healthier substitutes alone can cut down on belly fat and weight gain after you come back home.
