Diana’s Baths – NH
New Hampshire is a wonderful place to visit in the summer months. There are plenty of outdoor activities and a plethora of bodies of water to explore. For a unique cool down experience, visit Diana’s Baths in Bartlett, NH. Neighbor to Attitash Mountain, this series of waterfalls makes for a fun spot to swim, explore, and enjoy a picnic lunch with your family. A parking lot exists less than half a mile away, making it a convenient trip for kids of all ages. This is a must-see if you find yourself in the White Mountains this summer—it is a special summer swimming experience you’ll want to return to again and again.
Sliding Rock – NC
A ride and a way to cool down—Sliding Rock is a top attraction during the scolding hot North Carolina summers. The water may be frigid, but it will be welcomed with the blazing temperatures and humidity. This 60-foot smooth rock surface is the perfect nature-made slide with the same thrill as a man-made one. This destination is popular among natives and tourists alike, so be prepared to wait in line for your chance to slide. Lifeguards and staff are present so you can ensure a safe day of sliding and swimming.
Jacob’s Well – TX
Texas summers are scorching hot, so you’ll want to make sure you know lots of places to swim. Jacob’s Well used to host Native Americans as a sacred meeting place. Now, it provides a fun summer swimming spot for all ages. As one of the state’s longest underwater caves, it makes a great swim spot and a perfectly deep pool to cannonball into. This Well is surrounded by 81.5 acres of preserved land, making it an excellent spot to spend the day walking about and taking in the fresh air. However, to keep this spot from getting overcrowded, swimming times must be reserved. Be sure to visit their official website to reserve your time slot if you are going to be in the area.
Homestead Caldera – UT
This 10,000 year old crater is a hot tourist spot year round, but a great swim spot if you’re looking to dive into some hot water. A hole was drilled into the 55-foot-tall limestone dome back in 1996 so it could be explored by the public. Beyond swimming, guests can also scuba dive right in the crater—it is the only warm-weather diving spot available in the US! Paddleboard yoga classes are also available for those looking to sweat it out on the water. Hiking trails can be found nearby the crater, complete with waterfalls to see and rocks to climb on. If you find yourself in Utah, this is a distinct swimming spot not to be missed!
